ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING / 3D PRINTING

3D printing, also known as Additive Manufacturing (AM), refers to processes used to create a three-dimensional object in which layers of material are formed under computer control to create an object. Objects can be of almost any shape or geometry and are produced using digital model data from a 3D model or another electronic data source such as an Additive Manufacturing File (AMF) file.

In the current scenario, 3D printing or AM has been used in manufacturing, medical, industry and socio cultural sectors which facilitate 3D printing or AM to become successful commercial technology with an aim to reduce the lead time and cost of developing prototypes of new parts and devices, which was earlier only done with  tool room methods such as CNC milling, turning, and precision grinding.

WHAT WE OFFER

Global Additives Limited (GAL) offers the complete 3D print solutions for all your industrial components fabrication  requirement. Although the application horizon of 3D Printing is quite broad, use of specialized engineering plastics at GAL make it an ideal candidate for complex fabricated items such as structural components in textile, aviation, Energy, Oil and gas, automobile and general process industry. Use of light weight metal-like- strong plastics enable us to produce complex / expensive mechanical components with considerable reduced cost.

The common industrial application includes

  • Reproduction of eroded / broken components.
  • Duplicate  spares.
  • Prototype for new / bespoke designs.

Parts can be produced even from the sketches. Model is generated from 2D sketch and or vector images.

GAL production facility is fully equipped with state of the art additive manufacturing machine and CNC machining setup including Autodesk specialised design software.

EXECUTED INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS

These bolts were requested by an industrial client to be used for insulation gaskets. Traditionally steel bolts were used with the expensive GRE material flange hole sleeves. Use of fibre reinforced bolts and nuts with gaskets eliminate the need for such expensive sleeves.
Another aviation industry client prototype these bolts for their new assembly design due to weight constraints / impact requirement. Considerable cost savings were achieved during these two applications.
Gears and Pulleys are the most common requirements, we produce this 10 teeth Carbon Fiber Reinforced Nylon gear for another aviation industry client. Constraint were, way too high impact strength, target weight reduction and precision required for the process. The item was produced in less than half of the cost for conventional soft metal components.
Centralizers are used during liner running and cementing operation to keep the casing or liner in the center of the well bore. We offer centralizer in Tough Nylon / Polyester material, the one-piece centralizer has a low coefficient of friction, is heat resistant, and is highly durable. The composite material performs reliably even in extreme well bore conditions. completion equipment.
Instrument casings were produced for industrial client, required for an instrument which was, otherwise to be replaced completely.

Recently produced 106 teeth – 170 mm Pitch dia helical gear produced in 2 x sections. Sections joining elements as visible were created with M11 threads.

70 Teeth x 104 mm Pitch circle dia Gear produced for our industrial client. The reinforcement was extended up to the teeth which makes this gear design used for high impact load applications.

PROJECT SUPPLY CHAIN SERVICES

At GAL, we offer End -to- End Procurement solutions to our clients. We have established links with reputed suppliers, highly skilled procurement professional available in UK, Dubai and Muscat. GAL offers End-to-End Procurement services on small and medium sized projects.

Usually procurement cost of an item is not just the cost of commodity received from the supplier but it includes all the other cost elements such as Operation, maintenance , disposal etc. This is usually referred as “Total Life Cycle Cost -TLCC”.  TLCC optimization is an aim for any procurement function, however such optimization heavily depends on the available leverages and opportunities with the buying organisation.

At GAL we aim to achieve the TLCC optimization by using the “resource pooling” approach. GAL clients range from Shipyards to large Oil & Gas contractors which in turn offers a wide base for resource pooling. We ensure that all the available commercial frameworks such as Price Agreements  (FA), PO with top up options etc. are utilized to get optimum commodity price without  compromising on quality and associated supply risks. Also our offered outsourced procurement services produce significant savings to the  administrative cost of clients.

Our services are usually offered in two areas

  1. End -to- End management of Purchasing Activities  starting from concept realization,   Scope of work preparation, Commercial strategy, bidder list identification, Tendering process, managing pre/post bid techno commercial Clarifications, preparing techno commercial evaluations and making final recommendations to the client.
  2. End -to End management of Post Order Procurement Activities which includes but not limited to   Order expediting, Inspection arrangements inline with the specs requirement, Logistics and transport management etc.

GAL offered services are based on “Open Book” concept. Clients have the full rights to inspect any incurred / committed / fore casted cost.

These services are offered against fixed fee which is suppose to cover the GAL overheads and all other costs.

On top of the fee, GAL offer Target Cost Procurement  TCP  option to the client. In this arrangement both parties agree a ceiling limit of the Overall Cost, In the event of Project Cost Completion below the TCP ceiling limit, the acquired gain will then be shared between the GAL and client based on pre-defined percentage.
